What links the CB450 DX with a Formula 1 legend?
A few posts ago I mentioned that the Brazilians got a special edition Nelson Piquet version of the CB450DX.
Intrigued, I went searching - the internet's not all about porn you know - and I found this on a Brazilian biker site where they were raving as usual about the CB and I repeat here, exactly, the fella's post (translated by Google, so it loses something of course).
"Of all the CBS, which really makes my head was this:
CB 450 - Nelson Piquet... CB 450 - Nelson Piquet ... linda, linda!!! beautiful, beautiful!
Mas hj em dia é muito difícil, para não dizer impossível achar uma dessas inteira e original!! Hj But to date is very difficult, if not impossible to find such a full and original!"
S0 now you know...
I think it looks OK but of course there were no performance parts... or were there?
Piquet was of course Brazilian and Wikipedia says: "Nelson Piquet Souto Maior (born August 17, 1952), more commonly known as Nelson Piquet, is a Brazilian former racing driver who was Formula One world champion in 1981, 1983, and 1987."
But his Williams was powered by Honda, hence the link, and because the CB450 DX was their biggest machine, it seems only right that the Brazilians should mark the victory (the '87 one I think though I've seen an '86 for sale) with this special edition.

In fact the one in the top three pics is for sale as I write this in Brazil, R$8,700... a spectacular £2,700. Phew. Could you spot a fake?
